As our lives get busier and busier, it is ever so important that we continuously provide our bodies with the fuel it needs to keep going. These little things are a great treat when you're on the move and can be prepared in advance which can be stored in the fridge. Whether it's for a quick energy boost or a snack after coming from a workout it's great, easy and fulfilling. We have to warn you, they are the type of snack that makes you wanting more.
Ingredients
1/2 Cup Of Natural, Unsweetened Nut or Seed Butter
3 tbsp Honey, Agave Nectar or Pure Maple Syrup
1 Pinch Of Fine Sea Salt
1 Scoop of Nutristrength Whey Protein Isolate Classic Vanilla Powder
Protein Truffle Coatings -
Miniature Semisweet Chocolate Chips Or Cocoa Nibs
Unsweetened, Natural Cocoa Powder
Unsweetened Flake or Shredded Coconut, Plain Or Toasted
Finely Chopped Toasted Or Raw Nuts
Toasted Or Raw Seeds, finely chopped if needed
Method
1. Mix the nut or seed butter, honey and salt in a medium bowl until blended. Add the protein powder, stirring until completely combined (the mixture will be firm). At this point, if the mixture seems too wet you may add extra protein powder until the mixture comes together to a dough like consistency.
2. Scoop about 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of the mixture into your hands and shape into 1 inch balls.
3. If desired, place one or more of the suggested coatings in small shallow dishes. Roll each ball in the coating, gently applying pressure evenly. Place the balls in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. If you wish to you may add a little of the coating to line your container to avoid any sticking.
