Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Dessert is the tastiest meal of the day. Whether you like your pancakes for breakfast, brunch or dessert, our Protein Pancakes Recipe is a (slightly!) healthier alternative to more traditional recipes. It even counts as one of your five a day!
This pancake recipe has been made so it suits any protein powder, so you can try with our suggested flavoured protein or an unflavoured option if you'd like to let your toppings do the talking.
Protein Pancakes Ingredients
1 Large Banana
2 Eggs
2 Egg Whites
1 tsp Baking Powder
2 tbsp (1 serving) Nutristrength Whey Protein Isolate Powder (Choose a flavour of your choice, Vanilla has been used for this recipe)
Now you have the ingredients (told you it was simple - bet you had them all in your cupboard already, didn't you?) it's time for the protein pancake method, which is also pretty easy.
Protein Pancake Recipe Method
1. Combine all ingredients making sure to mash the bananas so they can be easily blended with the rest of the ingredients. Once the mixture is of a good pouring consistency (that of single cream) then you are ready to start cooking.
2. Use a tablespoon of Nutristrength Coconut Oil in a non-stick pan, let the oil melt, start on high heat and get ready with a ladle to pour the first pancake batter in.
3. Make sure the pan is at a suitable heat, pour a small amount of batter into the pan, it should bubble and produce air pockets once hot enough. Give it a minute for the first side before checking to see if it's browning and flip when at a nice golden brown. Do the same for the other side and then you're ready to plate.
4. Finish off the rest of the batch and serve with fresh fruits, maple syrup and a sprinkling of cinnamon.
